Shapeways Helps Bring your Games to Life

Are you in to designing 3D models and have always thought about actually getting a real life version of your digital art, then Shapeways might be the answer you have been looking for. This site is still in beta, but currently allows you to open your own store where browsers can purchase fabricated copies of your 3D models.
Model printing is limited to 20″x20″x15″ and prices vary depending on density of the model and the material you choose to fabricate it out of. I was able to find decent sized models sold by members of the Shapeways community for under $5.00 USD.
Thanks to programs that allow you to capture 3d data generated while playing your favorite games such as Mass Effect and Guild Wars, you may be able to create an inspired figure to bring your game character to life. Loonsbury at Tech Loon has created quite a few very amazing figures using Shapeways service as well as the services of their competitor Ownage.com.
