World of Warcraft as Addicting as Cocaine States Report

The World of Warcraft has often been described as addicting. Gamers have made the news for seemingly endless sessions of WoW ending in hospital stays and even fatalities. Last month a boy from Sweden went in to epileptic convulsions after a 24 hour session with the infamous game.

A report put out by Sweden’s Youth Care Foundation states that World of Warcraft is as addicting as crack cocaine. This is a stunning assertion, though the writer follows up insisting that every gaming addiction case they have taken up has involved the Blizzard title.

Gaming addiction is on the rise and according to Sweden’s Youth Care Foundation representative Sven Rollenhagen, “There is not a single case of game addiction that we have worked with which World of Warcraft has not played a part.” This quote coming from “Metro” newspaper.

China and South Korea have set up gaming addiction clinics to handle cases that have gone from innocent game playing to a more dangerous situation.
